Symphonics and Borne Recharge Service collaborate to intelligently control electric vehicle charging

The aim of this collaboration is to improve energy management for recharging electric vehicles.

Why is intelligent control essential?

This service aims to trigger recharging based on various electricity pricing or CO2 footprint signals, with the aim of reducing consumers' energy bills and carbon footprint by optimizing recharging at times when energy is cheapest and least carbon-intensive.

Benefits for users

For private individuals, the cost of recharging an electric vehicle is on average 3 times lower than the equivalent cost of filling up with petrol for combustion vehicles. The cost of home recharging is billed at between 0.16 and 0.28 euros per kilowatt-hour (kWh), depending on electricity contract rates.

Symphonics and Borne Recharge Service, united by a shared ambition to reduce both energy bills and the carbon footprint of their users, are actively collaborating to improve intelligent energy management services for electric recharging.

How does Symphonics optimize recharging?

Today, for certain parking configurations and energy contracts, Symphonics' technology can already shift 20% of the cost of recharging to off-peak hours, which are on average 30% cheaper than peak hours.

What's more, according to a study on the carbon intensity of the energy mix based on Eco2Mix data, this shift to off-peak hours reduces CO2 emissions by 27% for the same charging sessions.

The Symphonics advantage

Symphonics' support doesn't stop there, since Symphonics also helps to validate the correct sizing of subscriptions and electricity supply contract options according to present and future recharging needs.

Conclusion

The two companies are also collaborating on models and extensions to these services, in order to adapt recharging to price signals on the energy markets. The value extracted from these optimizations is significant in terms of energy bills, and is currently driving these developments.
