Milestone Reached: 100 Standalone Powerstack Battery Projects Signed
Just six months after the announcement of their strategic partnership, Symphonics, a specialist in smart energy management and a provider of 100% renewable electricity, and Sungrow, the global leader in battery storage solutions, are reaching a decisive milestone. With more than 100 projects for standalone PowerStack ST255CS batteries—both low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV)—already signed for 2026, the two companies are confirming the momentum of their model and anticipate a significant acceleration in their deployments for 2027.
Batteries connected to the grid to stabilize the power system
These projects are based on the installation of so-called “standalone” batteries: they are not connected to a specific solar or wind farm, but are directly connected to the power grid (at both low and high voltage).
This approach offers two major benefits:
- For the power grid: an immediate source of flexibility. Renewable energy sources (solar, wind) generate power intermittently. These batteries act as buffers: they absorb excess electricity when the grid has too much, then feed it back into the grid in less than half a second during peak demand to prevent outages.
- For the green transition: less waste. By storing the abundant green energy produced—rather than having to start up more expensive fossil-fuel power plants—they make it possible to integrate more clean electricity into the national grid.
Batteries thus facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the energy mix and contribute to the continued deployment of these low-carbon, domestically produced, and competitive energy sources.
A sharp acceleration is expected in 2027
Reaching the milestone of 100 signed projects in just a few months confirms the growing interest among energy industry players in these storage solutions. Symphonics and Sungrow Power France are now adapting their operations to support the scaling up expected to begin in 2027.
